How Motivation Works in Small Business

Small business often needs some fresh changes in the routines and behaviors. These changes may be made due to the change in economy, market trends or to keep up high morale of the employees. Almost all of successful business owners put great emphasize on the well being of their employees. Following are some working tips on motivating the employee and get more profits with their talent and skills.

Why Motivation is Necessary and how it Impacts

Mr. Henry is a successful manager in a reputed company, he was promoted from a lower rank and within five years he became a successful manager. Once he was asked for the reason behind his success. Mr. Henry stated that, “I always appreciate my subordinates and workers for their work and efforts. I discuss their problems and help them to resolve the troubles. My employees are happy and satisfied and I get quality in the work performed with best of their skills.”

It is completely psychological matter that people get delighted with appreciation. It is natural that everybody needs personal attention and importance. It is quite necessary for the mental health. Once I learned in a feature broadcast of BBC news that “The employees in lower designations live short lives. They often quarrel with their family members and others and most of them get physically and mentally ill due to their bosses.” These bosses are those who often remain unhappy with the employee’s efforts.

Small Business and Motivation

With well being of an employee, the small business owner gets many good values in reward. These values become enduring assets when applied permanently.

  • If an employee is happy with the boss, he will be honest and will feel positively about the profit and loss of his employer.
  • Mental health is quite necessary for physical health and both make the work performed in a better way. When a person is healthy, it will produce good work and will add good value on the overall profit in the business.
  • Employer gets quality work at less pay rates.
  • Small business owner can compete successfully with the co business owners and with the competitors in the market.
  • It also reduces the constant need of supervision and repeated instructions.
  • This scenario leads to a happy working environment and will build harmony among the employees. This harmony will promote the experience and skill level of all, working at all levels. As a result the business owner gets a team of best workers which are loyal and trustworthy.
